Our Story

From little things, big things grow

As teenagers, back in the 1980’s, Frank and Lynda holidayed in the park every summer enjoying their passion of water skiing. The park was originally known as Masons Paringa Caravan Park and was established in 1970. Over the years, they saw the potential of the dirt based site with a few old caravans and tents and in 2001, together with Bruce and Glenys Catto, became the proud owners. Starting as a one star park, an incredible amount of hard work and dedication has seen BIG4 Deni grow into the award winning park that it is today.

Working together, they invested many hours of hard work into their dream until the park emerged into the hallmark destination it is today, helping put the small town of Deniliquin on the radar by becoming recognised as the BEST OF THE BEST AT THE AUSTRALIAN TOURISM AWARDS in 2018.

From those humble beginnings, when the vision was just a dream thought up over many a campfire on those summer holidays, the park has been transformed into what is now recognised as the best in Australia. That's right. We don’t just win local awards. We win national awards!

Not only are we State Level Hall of Fame inductees but very proudly have achieved Hall of Fame nationally at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. What’s so special about this? It’s something that has never been achieved by a caravan park before! You don’t just win gold at the Australian Tourism Awards for being a nice place to stay, you win for being absolutely amazing.

Over the years, our park has actually won 11 tourism awards. Besides smashing records at the 2018 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, we've achieved Gold at the Inland Tourism Awards and Gold plus Hall of Fame at the NSW Tourism State Awards. Oh, and in 2015 we took out the BIG4 People's Choice Award which comes from wonderful feedback received from guests, both repeat and new.

We hang our hat on being a home away from home, a place where you feel welcome and totally at ease. With beautiful manicured surrounds, river frontage, a number of activities onsite for all ages, perfectly situated to take advantage of the many local and regional attractions, plus of course offering all the facilities and services you could need or want.

Though we might have won many an award and the park is much bigger than it was back then, we're still the same water skiing, holiday-loving family that we were all those years ago. The park is our passion and continuing to be hands on is what makes staying with us so special. It's a family park, run by family - with the owners managing and working within the park daily.

Welcome to our home!
