Deniliquin Golf Course
Situated on the edge of the Murray Valley Regional Park, the Deniliquin Golf Club boasts one of the nation’s most natural and beautiful courses.
With 18 carefully manicured fairways meandering around the waterways and forest, it's is a mecca for native birds and wildlife.
As you walk the lush couch fairways, surrounded by abundant native flora, you may be joined by wildlife as varied as kangaroos to wild ducks which lay claim to this oasis of greenery as their breeding grounds. Or you may share the fairways with the beautiful superb parrots who, like other birds and native animals, seem oblivious to the human activity which surrounds them.
The course itself is a par 72, comprising five par threes, five par fives and eight par fours. The front nine is shorter, though lots of water hazards require precision placement. The more open back nine allows you to open up with the driver, but beware the creeks and trees if you're too far off line.
The low down:
- 18 carefuly manicured fairways
- A meca for native birds and wildlife including kangaroos, kookaburras, parrots, echidna, lizards and pelicans
- Offers a 'same day play' which is rare among the Murray courses
- The course is par 72, with five par 3's, five par 5's and eight par 4's.
- Most days there is no need to book at all, just pop into the pro shop or call (03) 5881 3333 to organise your hit-off.
